Opening Day

Well, I am almost embarrassed to tell you how I "hunted" this one. I was hunting on my father in laws land, and had not had time to scout it at all. Only been back there a couple times. So, I drove the truck to the end of the field and put me a lawn chair in the bed. About 8 AM this fella walked by at about 150 yards. One shot from the Ruger 77 MK2 in .308 was all it took.

That is a beauty! Several years ago a now deceased friend of mine took a big buck with if I remember right a 10 point rack.... Him being the practical joker he was made him do something diabolical.... He took a tennis ball & colored it with a red marker then cut a hole in it. He then put it over the nose of the buck & drove home with it over the trunk of his car. The tennis ball was dull red from the marker absorbing into the covering. He pulls up to a traffic light next to a minivan with a woman driving & several kids inside.... All of a sudden he hears this wailing cry...... "AAAAHHHHGGGG!!!! He KILLED Rudolph!!!" I just wonder if those kids had to go to therapy?
