ROCS ROCKED ROCKET CITY!!

The 7th Annual ROCS Display Show Jan. 22 & 23, 2022

Writeup by Bill Hamm & Pictures by Bill and Mike Womble

A few TRUE Ruger addicts once again traveled to Huntsville, Alabama for the 7th Annual ROCS Display show and gathering. Again, due to the evil virus and other complications, several normal attendees were not able to attend this year and we sure missed them. But the members that were able to come really had a great time. We had five ROCS displays that included some very fine Rugers. The public asked several questions and seemed to enjoy the displays.

The displayers received prizes donated by ROCS Member Matt Olivier, ROCS and the CASC show promoters, Allen Daniels and his son, Ryan Wells. Allen had ROCS Logo Travel mugs with the show date on them for us. The Red Eagle News Exchange gave a 1-year free subscription for their judged "Best Ruger of the Show" and winner of the Intermediate class display. ROCS presented NRA/ROCS Silver Medals to their "Best Ruger of the Show" pre- and post-1973 produced Rugers.

A good time was had by all. Even though we had a small group the stories and tales told were as big as you could get!! Several of us enjoyed manning the ROCS table, talking to the public about ROCS. We had some renewals and signed up three new members. We certainly appreciate the dedication of all the displayers and the hard work that was put into building these great displays. It really helps get the identity of our club out there and attract new members.

I want to invite all of you to consider bringing a display to July's ROCS Display Show at the OGCA in Wilmington, Ohio. You will enjoy it and it's simply great to spend a weekend with like minded gun folks and friends!!
