The butt and forearm both have Boddington checkering?

Re: Ruger KM77FRTGMKII - 325 WSM

Just noticed your gun also left the factory as a "USED GUN", so chances are, it was on Ruger's trade show booth displays, or at least made it to one of those shows.
I currently have 7 serial numbers of the 10 or so produced.

Re: Ruger KM77FRTGMKII - 325 WSM

Congratulations!! It's not just "known to exist", the figure is 10-12 produced. With a gun like that in valuation, it comes down to "who wants it bad enough". The problem is, not many people even know Ruger made a rifle in .325 WSM, let alone two different models in that caliber....

Re: Rare RSS5W single six

500075 and 500421 were the only two known until yours showed up.
After I found 500421 I mated it up with RSS5X D500420 then placed them in another person's collection.

Re: NRA silver Medal

Well considering Mr Ruger cut the NRA a MILLION dollar check for their museum they should be a little more interested in RUGERS......I actually have gotten ZEROS on my score sheet from the big cheese from the NRA when he was a judge at OGCA display show .....he walked right by me and never even sto...

Re: Salt Cod box

Yes, rare as hens teeth!
Ruger also had to make a few salt cod boxes to hold two boxed Standard pistols. None known at this time, and really doubtful if any survived.

Re: WTB - Light Weight cast receiver

Probably a New Model but not sure. I got one of the New Model Lightweight Single-Six frames from him as well, and also a NM Lightweight Blackhawk as cast frame.
Not sure how different the NM frame would be from the OM maybe other than differences in production quality.

Re: Jim Schafer

Yes, Jim was a regular at all the area shows. I think he came to Tulsa a couple times as well. You know, there are so many collectors that go for the centerfires as the focalpoint of their collections, but Jim not only had those, his collection of rimfires was probably the best ever assembled... bei...
