Probably a New Model but not sure. I got one of the New Model Lightweight Single-Six frames from him as well, and also a NM Lightweight Blackhawk as cast frame.
Not sure how different the NM frame would be from the OM maybe other than differences in production quality.

Yes, Jim was a regular at all the area shows. I think he came to Tulsa a couple times as well. You know, there are so many collectors that go for the centerfires as the focalpoint of their collections, but Jim not only had those, his collection of rimfires was probably the best ever assembled... bei...

I had one of those at one time... lost in a fire about 20 years ago.

I don't think any low back stainless Service Sixes were made. If there were, would think one would have shown up by now. I'm not positive on this, but stainless steel and chrome moly steel have different shrink rates after pouring into investment casting molds. That may be enough to say no fixed sig...

There were as many made of these as the SC4.

From the looks of at least the high polish gate and the neckfeather medallions, falls right in line with the others known that were shipped in April 1967. Neat guns!! Ruger had plans to plate these because of the purple frame and only ended up plating around 125 of the SC6's. But the other 125 or so...
