I had one of those at one time... lost in a fire about 20 years ago.
A lot of good info in that book!!! Barrel twist rates, serial number ranges etc.

Re: WTB - Light Weight cast receiver
Greetings, I am looking for a cast but unmachined receiver that would have been used for the old Light Weight LWAC or LWSC revolvers of the 50's for a display. Also interested in a .357 flattop cast and unfinished receiver for a future display I've been working on putting together. Thanks, I know t...

Re: Filled a hole
I don't think any low back stainless Service Sixes were made. If there were, would think one would have shown up by now. I'm not positive on this, but stainless steel and chrome moly steel have different shrink rates after pouring into investment casting molds. That may be enough to say no fixed sig...

I was always under the thought that the "II" was the mark of Charles Jerred, Jr.

Re: Mark IV Lite, Black Hills edition
Glad you got it!! Many years into the future from now, would be tough to go back and find that "unicorn".
There were as many made of these as the SC4.
I wonder if Ruger was responsible for those wood grip panels as well?

1962 (?) .357 Blackhawk article
Does anybody remember what issue of the American Rifleman about 1962 that appeared an article on the .357 Blackhawk by I believe a person by the name of M.D. Waite? In that article was a pic of serial number 210 .357 flattop which is a known gun today. Ruger also did an in-house reprint of the artic...

Re: Got an S gun on the way....pics added
From the looks of at least the high polish gate and the neckfeather medallions, falls right in line with the others known that were shipped in April 1967. Neat guns!! Ruger had plans to plate these because of the purple frame and only ended up plating around 125 of the SC6's. But the other 125 or so...

Are you sure that's circassian?
Looks like fairly strait grained black walnut.
Does the forearm also have Boddington checkering?
I saw a .460 S&W recently that had Boddington checkering on the forearm and standard checkering on the wrist.
