Re: Setting Up My Ruger Mark IVs For Steel Challenge
I've been practicing for the past two weeks with these setups and I'm very pleased. I actually enjoy shooting the fiber optic sights and am doing surprisingly better. I focus on the front sight and can call my hits faster that with the dot. Most people find the dots faster. I have two weeks before ...

Chad,
Thanks for all of the clarifications!
Believe you are spot on with your summation of how this "neat" mismatched upper/lower came about!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS Everyone

Re: A question for the experts (you know who you are)
Ted...I’d love to know if the seller responds and if they actually have knowledge of the guns History. Thanks again for researching it. Rick Rick, Haven't had direct correspondence from the seller yet. However, my questions were publicly answered through their insertion of additional historical fac...

Great looking MkI T678...looks new or possibly a Ruger Hot Blued refinish (they do wonderful refirb work). In it's condition, you did well!

Re: A question for the experts (you know who you are)
Ted, I’m impressed with your research work! Now, if any of that could be substantiated, that would be a rare gun! So maybe 950 ISNT a bad price?😊 I read somewhere on this forum where someone said (I’m paraphrasing) that the search was half the fun of collecting. I agree! I’m gonna watch this one an...

Re: A question for the experts (you know who you are)
Rick, I spoke to Ruger Mk CS this AM. This Ruger (SN 222-72133) left the factory as a Regular MkII KMK512 all stainless 5 1/2" Target Bull Barrel, Not as a 22/45 polymer KP512!?! :?: The Ruger Tech stated it either went to a specialty dealer (liked Davidsons) who changed out the barrel ...

Re: A question for the experts (you know who you are)
Is it a factory gun with a 22/45 barrel on a standard frame? Rick, The stainless 22/45 bull barrel (like in the for sale auction) typically was matched with the new Zytel polymer lower, had a catalog# of KP512 and had no designation or markings of "MkII" anywhere on the receiver! This upp...

Re: A question for the experts (you know who you are)
I thought the price was ridiculous, but the fact that it’s being represented as A factory gun is what piqued my curiosity. I have no intention of buying it, but if it IS a rare variant, .......who knows? If nothing else, it’s interesting. Agreed. Nothing I see would make this a "rare MkII BB&q...

Lost but Found!
Well, not really lost, but gave the KP514 to my son, who went from a suburbia setting of .25 acre to a 10 acre layout in the country! ;) Finally came across the MkII Heavy Tapered 5 1/4" barrel Stainless (what I really wanted to complete my MkII SS slab sided, KMK678 and KMK6 collection)! For 5...

Re: Ruger Mk History-Going Backwards-Not Today!
Although I really didn't need another Standard, it was too tempting to turn down a New MkIV 4 3/4" Standard for $35!!! :o   A Volquartsen upper clearance made me do it! Since I already have the Hunter (SS lower) and the 22/45 Lite (polymer lower), and the MkIV platform allows...
