Here is a chart I built that may be useful. Tom Martin has a good chart as well.
JD,

Great spreadsheet with a lot more Detail and Useful info!! Was going to do something similar, but it would have been pretty anemic compared to your endeavor! ;)

THANKS for sharing,

Ted

Re: 1950 RST-4 (1st collectable?)

Congratulations on your find. It certainly is a collectable. The August 2019 edition of the Red Eagle News Exchange (RENE) price guide lists the collector grade Type II's at $610. If you do not have one, Chad Hiddleson's Encyclopedia of Ruger Semi-Automatic Rimfire Pistols * 1949 - 1992 is a must h...

Re: 1950 RST-4 (1st collectable?)

Thanks to all for the kind comments and support! I was given a link yesterday to a very educational and detailed gun show participant, the Bob Belknap's Ruger Red Eagle Display at the 2004 RCA Show in Tulsa! :D I've been reading about the Ruger Collectors "Type" ratings for Red Eagles, but was never...

1950 RST-4 (1st collectable?)

Below is my newest acquisition, a 1950 Ruger Red Eagle Standard, SN-3560! After my through take down review, believe it would rate as a NRA "Excellent" status, with 99% perfect bluing and a basically "new" look (inside and out), including an original Red Eagle grip emblem. Rifling is superb and over...

Re: I picked up another Ruger pistol

TCB, Congrats on your 53' find (my birth year)...great find and as per your wonderful blog documentation, cleaned up really nice! I had been eyeing a 53' on auction, but asking way too much and needs a head to toe restoration (bluing is terrible-50%). Soooo, found and have a RST4 1950 Red Eag...

RST4 #3560 !

Well, digging deeper into the rabbit hole... On the 5th, was out-dueled for a nice 51' MkI Target T-514 as a start for my Ruger collection. However, I just scored a 1950 RST4 (#3560) that appears to be in great shape and looks Exactly like Chuck's 0657 Standard ! :D Should receive this upcomi...

Re: T514

Should be about $550 to $600. Depends also on the bolt type - regular or tapered ear. Thanks TEMIII! Though few and fair, the pics appear to show it had tapered bolt ears. Guess once I added OEM proper period grips and all (recessed Red Eagle Medallion-paperwork-box), I'd easily have over $1K sunk ...

Re: T514-Curious

Had a shot at a late 1951 T514...looked to be in excellent 95%+ condition SN-28568 , however had vanilla plastic Non-OEM grip panels. Hard to get a winning bid when a professional gunsmith also wants it, beating the 15-minute rule 28X after 12 minute intervals (4.5 hrs of bidding process)?!? ...
