Re: Ruger DA .357 Magnum Evolution?

On the subject of Ruger evolution, what made Ruger shorten the flutes on the new GP100s? I just noticed this and the very short flutes on the GPs look odd to me. If I was to guess I'd say it saves a little production cost. Prayers sent for Terry's speedy recovery.

Re: 1988 DAO Service Six 4" 38spl

Nice snag! Seeing that it is one of the over run revolvers it will not have the NYCPD "Star" on the frame. Now you need to find one of the revolvers that went to the NYCPD,, ;) the hunt never ends :D . Terry I've got a nice GS-83 with the "star" so I'm going to call it good enou...

Mine is stamped "Made in Italy" on the inside of each. Seller said they were old stock packaged in bulk.

Re: 1988 DAO Service Six 4" 38spl

Great gun to get hold of. The letter from Ruger will be interesting in what it says, let us know. The Ruger letter arrived yesterday confirming it's a GF-84 NYCPD special contract overrun shipped directly to Davidsons West in Prescott, AZ. Ten dollars for this information was money well spent IMO. ...

Re: GP100 in 38 Special

Looks like Ron gave you your answer already. Apparently it was made for you, your kids, grandkids and their kids as you'll never wear that GP out shooting 38spls. Nice revolver, good luck and enjoy it.

1988 DAO Service Six 4" 38spl

IMG_1678 (2).JPG IMG_1690_LI.jpg IMG_1673 (2).JPG The Service Six I asked about in the "Questions" forum arrived at my FFL yesterday. It was wrapped in nothing but bubble wrap w/label on it but made the trip from Oklahoma to Connecticut safely. It's condition is amazing for a lightly used...

Re: NYCPD 4" Service Six 38spl fair price

It's in the right s/n range to be one. Check the crane to see if there is a star stamped there. If there is, then it has been through the NYCPD armorers and could have been issued. If not, then it could be a NYCPD contract overurn, still very desired. To me (but I'm a cheapskate) that is about $150...

Re: NYCPD 4" Service Six 38spl fair price

Thanks for the replies. It's been for sale for over two months and I've kept waiting for the price to drop but hasn't. The gun is in another state so I can't look at it in person. I told the owner where to look for the star but he said it didn't have one. Either he missed it or it's probably an over...

NYCPD 4" Service Six 38spl fair price

I've found what I believe is a NYCPD DAO 4" Service Six with a SN# 162-4111XX. It looks to be in excellent condition but $750 seems too much to me. What do you experts think is a fair price for it if it's what I think it is?

Re: Ruger Auctioned Speed Six

Seems like there were three serious bidders in the end. As to the price look at what the money is used for. Sometimes the Cause trumps the Cost! Just saying ;) Terry I've seen a couple from that auction go that high too. Maybe the buyers consider it a contribution with a nice revolver as a bonus.
