They were introduced in 1971 with serial # 110-90067, plastic butt plate was switched to rubber in 1987

Does anyone know what year Ruger first offered the deluxe sporter (not the 1966 finger groove sporter)?

Looks like the one below except with a plastic butt plate.

the rear one yes, but the front one was different, this is like the ones on the Finger Groove Sporter, but it connects to the barrel band witch the FGS did not use a barrel band

I found this set on ebay, never knew they used this style of slings on a standard carbine stock with the barrel band.
