Thanks Don, that's some great information on the revolver than ended up replacing the Six series double actions and the GP's are still going strong.

American Rifleman ads

I recently aquired the full years of 1954 and 1955 American Rifleman. There are some great Ruger color ads, dope bag report on the Single-Six and the first article they published on the Blackhawk. It's really neat browsing through them and the way the information and ads have changed over the years....

You're correct that the Hawkeye was based on a Blackhawk frame but not classified as a Blackhawk, Ruger offered a 8 shot Blackhawk chambered in .327 Federal Magnum in 2010 with a catalog # KBN-3275 and model #0353.

Thanks Ironhawk, as I'm sure you're aware it's a never ending journey. I picked up a '57 .44 flattop Monday, a three digit .45 colt NM Blackhawk today and have another Super Blackhawk coming in this weekend. Get out your camera and show us some of your Rugers, we like pics.
