Taking pics of old Flatties and custom OMs
No matter what I try I can't seem to get the high quality pics some of you guys get. Especially in regards to bluing. I'd like to submit some pics but they just don't do the guns justice A few questions: 1) What do you oil the guns down with before the shot? 2) What type of lighting do you use to av...

Re: Tri Color Value
Agree. Values have gone crazy past 6 months on TriColors. Last one I sold, about 7-8 years ago, it took me several months and I only got $375 for it. I paid $225 about 10 years previous, so I was happy. Might have been happier had I kept it as it was about 90%. Wouldn't shoot for anything. Spit lead...

Re: Hand Engraved Single-Six
Beauty! See if Tyler’s can do a plastic bead blast to clean up the none engraved areas and then finish in a French Gray blue. The plastic beads will not remove good metal and will leave a matte finish to compliment the hand-polished engraved areas. Good luck and please post some pics of the finished...

Re: Hawkeye Pistol 2331
I was able to track down and purchase an old Bushnell Phantom 2.5x period-correct scope, rings and mounts for the Hawkeye last week. Despite assurances from various sellers, the mounts I received all required drilling and tapping the top strap of the Hawkeye, which I refused to do. Just as well, sin...

Re: Hawkeye Pistol 2331
Finally got to shoot the new Hawkeye. Was able to round up four boxes of ammo at local gun shop last week, two white boxes and two yellow. LOL, the neighbors aren’t real happy. After six days, it finally stopped raining Saturday evening about 7:30 so I slipped out back and fired off five rounds. It ...

Re: P89-90 Series with integral laser in frame?
Great link, and pics as well. Thanks, all were very helpful. From the pics, right off the bat I noticed the all the stuff mounted on the slide. The gun I saw had none of that, making me think it was DOA from the start. Very slick with minimal markings in the slide. I fact, I don’t recall seeing a mo...

P89-90 Series with integral laser in frame?
Forgive my ignorance re the P-series auto pistols as I am a single-action guy, but I saw a very interesting Ruger auto pistol tonight that may be offered for sale soon as part of an estate liquidation. If you guys think its worthwhile I might grab it if I'm offered the chance and maybe trade it off ...

Re: Hawkeye Pistol 2331
I’ve also been checking out Hawkeye scope base options. I’d like to find a machinist who might be able to put a curve on the bottom of a modern Ruger scalloped base to match the Hawkeye barrel contour, enabling me to use modern Ruger rings. This would allow me to leave the rear sight intact and on t...
