Re: Ruger 1-S 24inch, 1-AB or 1-AH with target blocks
You dont have to use them for target scopes. They make for very fine mounts and in some ways are better than the quarter rib. I'd like to see some pictures of modern (i.e. short) scopes mounted using those target blocks that are spaced 7.25" apart! Or maybe I just don't understand, whi...

Re: Ruger 1-S 24inch, 1-AB or 1-AH with target blocks
That will never happen these days, unless someone comes up with the $$$$$$$ up front to have Ruger do a special run of at least 250 rifles. The number of shooters who use target scopes, or even know what the target scope blocks are for, is very small (relative to the entire current shooting populati...

Old rifle with "new" old scope
IMG_1079.JPG I've had this 1H 375 H&H for quite some time. I've also had the Lyman Alaskan scope and Leupold 7/8" Ruger rings for years too. Yesterday, I decided to put them all together. Pretty good looking old school set-up. 8-) Now to do some loading and see how they shoot together. (th...

Re: Ruger Forum.com.....account suspended?
Looks like it might be a security related issue. I wonder if it will ever be back?

Re: rare no 1 for sale
Interesting that they placed the serial number on the opposite side of the receiver from normal factory production, and that they chose Talley? rings as opposed to the standard Ruger arrangement.
I guess it had to be extra, extra special to justify the price tag.

Where was Ruger with this 20 years ago when I actually had an interest in 10/22s!?

Re: Ruger Letters
I also received the two letters I requested way back when, So, things seem to be getting back to normal (or the new normal )
Only problem is, one of the rifles I wanted a letter for, got sold some time ago . . . . .

Lyman Centennial No. One 45-70
Anyone else actually shoot their Lyman Cnetennial 45-70s? Mine is an unmarked overrun and I've found that I can put a globe front sight and vintage Parker Hale aperture sight on the factory target bases and it works great. Lots of fun with light loads and cast bullets! https://i.imgur.com/iks5cQU.jp...

Re: 130 prefix No. 1 RSI
Yep that is not a typo. Just purchased a 270 win No. 1 RSI with a 130 prefix serial number. Just goes to show that using left over actions were not exclusive to non prefix guns. I ran the S/N on the Ruger website says it was shipped in 1986, so action was probably collecting dust at the factory for...

Re: Special No.1 ?
no matter what the history it is a beautiful custom gun. Just speculating here, but the gun's metal may have went through a restoration along with the custom work. I know that I have sent guns out to TGW for restoration and Bobby has had to re-stamp the S/N due to removing pits from the action. Per...
