Re: 101 pre-fix 44 Carbines
The ones in my notes are as follows... 101-00350 101-00803 101-00853 101-02200 The first three I believe were listed in an RCA Journal from the late 1980's(?) as appearing on a list of used guns that were shipped from the factory, so these three may be "U" or even "S" marked. A 1...

Re: Ruger boxes time frames
I saw this question on Rugerforum also. I'll probably be working on an article for boxes for a future issue of RENE and/or ROCS. It probably won't be in the August RENE though...not sure how much room I'll have with the annual RENE price guide scheduled for that issue.

Re: unique early 10/22 bolts
There should be a reason for the hole. Are you able to determine if it is for gas relief?

Re: unique early 10/22 bolts
It is pretty unusual for something like that to be discovered fifty-some years after they were made. Are you sure that was done by the factory?

Re: Why did Ruger DC the Vaqueros?
Does anyone have a breakdown on the numbers for caliber and barrel length for the old model vaquero? With nearly 400,000 made, the scarcest regular production was in .44-40 with well under 10% production. The .45 Colt was most common and the .44 Mag. next. For barrel lengths, the 5-1/2" is mos...

Re: P-85 Number 4
Hmmm...didn't know the first three in this thread existed. Two additional guns are pictured on page 212 of "Ruger & His Guns", now for a total of five Lantuch P85's known. Had Walt Berger passed away by the time his #300-00004 was made? The gun probably came off the assembly line in 19...

The closest in my notes is 15167. It was in California...might still be.fishhuntnut wrote:Anyone know of a list of known Ross serial numbers? I know Bob Cambell had collected a list of known early BKH3x serial numbers... Want to know if 15165 exists in someone's collection...

Re: Ruger Single Six with 4 5/8"
Ruger Distributor Davidson's had Ruger build them 500 of each in the barrel lengths 4-5/8", 5-1/2" and 6-1/2" in 1989. They look just like an Old Model fixed sight gun except they have two pins. I always wondered if Ruger didn't use up the leftovers of their fixed sight Single-Six Bis...

Re: 1949 Corp Seal
Just wish they'd have saved those single-digit autos that I'd heard they scrapped.
Those could have been put on Ruger auctions and done well for a great charity....and made a few happy collectors as well.
