Re: Making Six series DAO hammers
Carl, I laid my DAO hammer on a regular hammer and marked it with a Sharpie. The used a cutoff wheel (actually 2, broke the first one, going to quickly) on my Dremel. Then profiled it on a 1 inch wide stationary belt sander and then did more work with different burrs/wheels on the Dremel. It's also ...

Making Six series DAO hammers
Here's my first try at modifying Six Series hammers to make them DAO. Replacements are hard to find so I thought I'd see what I could do with a standard hammer. I know, the pictures aren't the greatest, I need to get out the good camera. Top are standard, below are the modded ones IMG_0046.JPG Middl...

Re: 2 digit Redhawk
Michael, another 2 digit Redhawk popping up, great find, looks good. Look at the front sight, I see the red insert is rounded at the bottom which would probably be a later edition as Chad said. I wonder if the original was a dovetail red insert or a plain black sight being it's a 5 1/2" model. ...

Re: 2 digit Redhawk
Here's the 2 digit I just got. It came with box, shipper, the original plastic bag with the logo's and the owners registration/NRA/Safety card and this letter from the RCA. https://i.imgur.com/6FmTwAeh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/IvPaJrfh.jpg Jay, in many instances I agree with you, but sometimes pristi...

Mike, Great looking Redhawk, not sure if I'd shoot it. I bought (being delivered today) s/n 500-00035. I'll post once I get it and unpack everything.

Re: Ruger DA .357 Magnum Evolution?
While I am not a long time collector like a lot here on the forum (about 27 years) my collection has centered around the Ruger DA's. One has to remember that William B. Ruger (a HUGE firearms collector) did not want his guns to be for collectors only, he wanted (and made) firearms to be used by ever...
