A very rare book. Just a few were printed. These were given to Ruger directors in 1978. original owner of this book was a retired Ruger CEO..

Bill, Sorry, I was not real clear,the NRA named the original pistol the "Sport Model". Ruger named the Mark I. I may have rambled on a little long.

Until the Mark I Target came out Ruger's .22 pistol did not have an official title. Ruger had just produced several prototype target pistols (1950). These pistols were serial numbered X3 thru X32 (all numbers were not produced). These pistols were roll marked just like the original 4 3/4 in. pistol....

I'm not a photographer but I have a suggestion. A smart man pointed out to me and it seems to work. When taking (firearms) pictures with your cell phone try using a piece of cloth for background. Green, red, white, or yellow works pretty good. It will eliminate a lot of the glare you get with paper ...
