Re: no 1 sight question

My books show the RSI first cataloged in 1984 or 85, so it might be safe to assume this is when the change to the fluted front band occurred and why no RSIs exist with the unfluted band. That is to say, I've never seen one, but I wouldn't be surprised if one showed up in typical Ruger fashion, using...

Re: no 1 sight question

I don't know exactly (nor does anyone else I'd guess), but based on what I've seen in my travels and my own rifles over the years, it seems to be sometime in the mid-1980s. As with all things Ruger Number One, there are no hard an fast rules, exact dates for changes or verifiable records (i.e. never...

Re: 256 WIN MAG

The only two guns made for the caliber. Kinda cool if you ask me.
Not really. . .
Your quest is not over!

Thompson Center chambered their Contender for 256 Win Mag. and I'm pretty sure that Universal carbines (M1 clone) were also chambered in it for a short time way back when.

Re: No rifleman here.......

Two nice rifles there.
I could start a thread titled "No Pistolero here . . . " and show my S&W Model 17 and 41 (2 of the three handguns I own). :)

Even better when it's a Liberty gun and has a nice set of wood and scope on it! ;)

Re: 22-250 special varminter non prefix serial number

Yeah, if you guys are looking for great Number One rifles, I would definitely go after a non-prefix gun because of how they are priced these days, even semi-scarce variations. Compared to the price of today's NIB current Number One's, buying a non-prefix is a no-brainer. If the market completely dr...

Re: 22-250 special varminter non prefix serial number

The market for non-prefix Number Ones is not the hottest right now, so I'm not too surprised that you had no interest at the gun show. Also, the BB in 22-250 is the most common configuration/chambering of the non-prefix rifles, so that works against it too, unless it has killer wood, vertically spli...

Re: 22-250 special varminter non prefix serial number

if it is a medium weight barrel I assume it is a BBB configuration...26" barrel with a quarter rib and beaver tail forearm. This is the most common configuration, but the vertical split rings add some value, should fetch 1200 -1500 Just BB as you describe. A BBB would be medium weight barrel w...

Re: The future of the No. One . . . yet again

Is the 375 Ruger RSI made with a "B" weight barrel? If so, that's a first.
