Ruger 10/22 SS Bull barrel Volquartsen 17 Mach 2 .17

Post by d49829 »

My father passed away recently, and the executor has asked me to sell his firearms for the family. I am trying to determine the value of:

Ruger 10/22 with a Volquartsen Stainless Steel Volquartsen 17 Mach 2 .17 caliber, and a black composite target stock. I also have the original new .22 barrel that he took off of it, and the original wood stock.

Thank you!

Any ammo come with it? Does it have a scope on it? Are the barrels standard or heavy .920 dia? Was the bolt replaced? Any extra mags? If you post a pictures if would help determine the true value to get the estate the most money.

Thank you, and I apologize for how long it has taken me to respond, but had been traveling for work, and apparently didn't mark my post for notification.

It is a Ruger 10/22 with a Volquartsen 17 Mach 2 stainless steel match bull barrel conversion. I think the target stock is a Hogue overmolded. It has 2 magazines, there's a cheap tasco scope on it, and it has an aluminum mag release lever. There is also a brick of CCI ammunition.

The rifle appears to be in like new condition, and the original wood stock and blued barrel also appear to be in like new condition.

I saw him shoot a small bird out of a tree that was over a hundred yards at his camp about five years ago, and he claimed that he could easily hold under half inch groups with it at 50 yards. He became ill shortly afterward, and its been in his safe ever since.

Been having trouble finding much information on these and would like to get an idea of what it might be worth as I am considering buying it from the estate, and want to be fair to the rest of my siblings.

Thank you again,

Dan

Anytime I've seen them "Like New" with fancy thumb hole wood to synthetic make it look like an AR stuff (why?) they are asking around $750. I DON'T see them selling for that much...
I'd say it's a solid $600 rifle.
