Simichrome polish works well to polish all my brass framed guns. I buy it from Brownells in a small tube, similar to toothpaste. Rub it on and allow it to dry, then wipe off the haze with a soft flannel cloth. Time and handling will eventually create a dull finish again. Brass Frame/Lee

Lee,
Thanks for the response.
My first step in to brass frames.
Kinda nervous about applying my limited skills on a nice piece of
machining like this.
Luckily fishing season is here in the Pacific Northwest and I can
put it off until late fall when I'm done on the water :) ;) :)
I will post when I venture in.

Cheers,
JAY

Are you asking for a New Model or a Three Screw?

For a New Model, order a steel one from Ruger or Brownells. I believe Hamilton Bowen depicts a New Model Blackhawk fitted with the new XR-3 grip frame. And try Ronnie Wells fr possibility of a brass grip frame.

Go to this site for possible info about Ronnie Wells:

Thanks for the reply Bob.
The pictured brass frame came from Ronnie Wells.

Any update, did you get your RW frame fitted? I'm considering one myself

Doc,
Now that fish camp has been dismantled and brought home the gun thing takes front and center.
BUT....I have not yet jumped on this brass frame. Kinda scared actually. Never done anything like this before.
Looking for a piece of brass to practice on before I screw up this frame!!
As soon as I get some practice and grow a pair I will post...... :?

Cheers,
JAY

I finished a Ruger SS Bisley frame recently and surprised myself how great it looks. My first try. Ordered from Midway, the Ruger frames that need fitting. If I can do it, anybody can. I'll post once I get a hammer delivered and everything but back together. Just go slow, and be careful not to use too coarse of an abrasive.
