Two tone bicentennial?

Post by Rickkling »

I just saw this on gunbroker. It is in poor condition, but I’m curious as to if it is a factory gun. Hopefully the big brains of this forum can answer.
It’s listed as MKI, bicentennial, 5.5” barrel, two tone.

It appears to be a "proper"?? Mark I T-512, that someone has removed the finish off the receiver, leaving the barrel blued,,,you can see the "200th Year " logo across the top of the receiver......all to often someone may have spilled pop or something ,maybe even used the wrong cleaner?? and the blued finish came off.......yes , is "factory", NO it did NOT come that way , as a "two tone".........as you can see the one original MK magazine as well as a Mark II ,later magazine...the Mark I was shipped with only ONE magazine.......

And stainless guns didn't come out until 1984.

If I get a chance I'll check it out on Saturday. Was going to look at it last Saturday but I lost interest. There are scuff marks on the barrel and receiver like someone had changed the barrel, or tried.

Maybe Monday. I have a transfer that should be there then.
