One or two piece

Post by Rickkling »

I’m sorry to post yet another question, but quite frankly, I have found collecting these things is one of, if not the, most enjoyable hobbies I’ve ever had! And I thank all of you for your patience with me and your help.
Not to mention, I’ve made a few new friends in the proccess!
So, now that I have acquired another type 4 red eagle, I have a question that I’m sure y’all can answer. Are these one or two piece emblems?

That is a one piece medallion. Note how the eagle is "incuse" (set below the surface).
The two piece medallion has its eagle flush with the silver surface.
One piece medallions are also easy to spot as almost always the paint will be busted or broken at the center of the eagle. That is because when they staked the back of the stem, the stem tried to burst through the front of the medallion.
