1950 Standard missing medallion

Post by Dalmorloson »

I have a Type II Standard with a missing "Red Eagle" medallion. I'm looking for either a medallion or a set of grip panels that would be correct. Anyone ever hear of either coming up for sale anywhere?

Well they pop up but usually aren't cheap.....
you need the first type of stocks with the metal eschusions....
I have bought beater guns just to get grips and bolts....
Good luck

The medallion you need is the two-piece type that has the red enamel flush with the surface of the medallion. Those only went to about 9400 serial number, but is the reason many early autos are found without medallions... the stem broke off and the medallion portion fell out.

That grip pictured looks like the correct one for the right side. Is the medallion missing from the left panel?
