3 digit single six

Post by JAYDAWG »

I'm looking for ROCS collectors opinions and especially advise.
Take a look at the pics.
I am the caretaker of this cool piece of history. At this time my lowest serial numbered Ruger.
Obviously in tough shape. Lots of wear, grip frame polished and the micro sights installed.
Although, looking at the wear and dirt, the sights were installed A LONG time ago. Kind of
period correct for an upgrade??
Lock up seems good but all over the target, so I'd guess the bore is trashed.

My dilemma is do I have it restored?
Do I restore it to original Ruger with sights?

What does everyone think?
I want all opinions and experiences please.

Cheers,
JAY

Also forgot to mention that the hammer has been jeweled a long time ago.
Along with the sights someone spent some money on this gun back in the day......

I bet if you offered Jay a fine set of clothes like a leisure suit or some Arkinsaw LUUUUV Pants along with a jug of corn likker, a moon pie, some brogan shoes and a slingshot with some marbles he might be in a trading mood!

Yikes......what have I got my self into here?!?!??
WT with his LUUUUV pants and lack of marbles was scarin' me enough,
but now it seems radicalrod is lookin to make a deal.
I'm thinkin if I drop the soap I'd best kick it clear to the next county before
I pick it up :P  :P

Seriously, I did send it to Mr. Bobby Tyler. Talked to him on the phone & was very impressed.
7pm Texas time and his daughter was BBQing burgers for him and his guys because they were
working through dinner since they were so busy!! Said he was doing case coloring for 17
manufacturers & was 6 months out for a restore like this, BUT really wanted to do it.
Looking forward to seeing his work.
I will post "after" pics when I get it back.
Cheers to all,
JAY
