The lightweight Single-Sixes were made from 1955 to 1958 however some didn't leave the factory until around the mid-sixties.

I've seen several of these polished grip frame guns. I really like the way they look especially on an old and worn gun. My question is, and I've never heard it committed on, is it a hard job to do to get all of the anodizing off and make it look good and smooth. Just what does it take and how is it accomplished. I've got a really rough frame I'd like to try it on. I'd really appreciate some info. Thanks...

Single-Six,
Remove the grip frame from the gun.
Get some Purple Power cleaner (shameless plug....NAPA sells it!) and soak it over night in it. This will take most of the anodizing off.
Please don't ask how I know this...
Then use a dremel tool with the cotton attachments and some polishing compound and go as long as you want!!
I buffed this one some more and found some Vaquaro grips that I needed to drill a different hole in for the pin to make fit.
An updated pic of the the old gal.
Cheers,
JAY
