BKH-34X and BKH-36X boxes

Post by chet15 »

I am finishing up my article on .357 Blackhawks for the May RENE (protected sight models) and don't remember if all the boxes for the Old Model BKH-34X / BKH-36X convertibles had a white label covering the end saying BKH-34X or BKH-36X. Can somebody help with that? If I remember correctly, most boxes did not have a BKH-34X or BKH-36X label on the end for the convertible models, and such a label may only have been used if for some reason Ruger ran out of stock at any given time of any BKH-34 or BKH-36 printed box.

All of the Convertibles that I have owned were in the BKH-34 or BKH-36 boxs with no labels or stickers.

Chet,
All of my 357 boxes, BKH34 & BKH36, have no "X" on the model number. I have a new in the box with the shipping sleeve that has a re-labeled 41mag box, No "X" on it either. But the shipping sleeve does have the "X" on the model number.

This is the same for all other convertibles I have encountered. The "X" for convertible is on the shipping sleeve. The same with the "B" for Brass framed guns, the "B" is only on the shipping sleeve.
