I just bought a matched serial number set of the 50th anniversary Blackhawks in a display case. I know that when Ruger released the 50th 357 Mags in 2005 they held a few back and combined them with the 50th 44 Mags that were released in 2006 with matching serial numbers. They went out in December of 2006 in a display case but have no idea how many were put out. I talked to Ruger and they don't know either. Does anyone have any information about them? I do have a copy of the release from Ruger introducing them.
Thsnks, Bennett

Re: Flattop Blackhawk 50th anniversary matched set
Sir,
The NM .357 Mag. FT's cased sets with matching serial numbers began with #520-09632 thru #520-16828 range.
With the .44 Mag. starting with #870-0932 thru #870-16828, Around 1000 sets produced. A few collectors have managed to pair up the early #89-XXXXX .44 Mags. with early .357 Mag. guns.
Info RENE Reference and News Letter.

I have heard that there were to be only 1000 produced. But I also heard that you could buy the case separately??
So as with all things Ruger we will never no for sure how many or what they produce. That is what makes Ruger collecting so interesting.

Yeah that being said I did pick up one of the display cases for a really good price a while back so who knows. If what your collecting makes you happy and you don't get ripped off I guess that's all that matters.O M CRAZY wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 10:49 am I have heard that there were to be only 1000 produced. Nice, had an un-matched pair without the case, but they both got traded off to one of our members here. Sort of wish they still lived here. 2 Beatcat 50ths followed these to the same place.
