Testing putting pictures in a post:
A pair of Police Service Sixes that came out of a prison system. Bought them a year apart (one bought on line and the second one at a gun show) and after refurbing the second on found out I had consecutive s/n's.
No too bad, 1 little tweak and I think I've got it

It is always great when you find that something special for your collection. When you can bring guns back together it makes them even more special. Thanks for sharing your find and hope you can find more.

Not Rockview, don't know what prison it was, don't even know if it was a PA prison and nothing they etched all over the guns had anything that would ID the prison. BTW, my dad worked at Rockview as a CO / Sgt for 30 years, the last 10 years at the forestry camps.

Re: Consecutive s/n pair
Are they .38's or .357's? The Prison System I worked in used S&W Model 10 Heavy Barrel .38's. Pre 9-11 they issued 158 grain semi wadcutter ammo. After 9-11 they issued 125 grain JHP+P ammo. They also increased the number of rounds from 18 to 30.
Some people sit on $.05 of knowledge like it is the treasure of Egypt. I will teach anyone $.10 worth just to prove a point...
Re: Consecutive s/n pair
These are .38 Spl. I actually refurbished 3 from the same prison system (the bad etching all over them was the same) and then found I had the consecutives and sold the "odd man out".

Ron,
This is the ser. no. where the barrel ejector rod profile changes! This is huge!
Have you shared this point with Chad?
I'm sure you noticed the difference. Chad did not address this change in his last ed.
