Ruger .380 Rim DA's

Post by RoninPA »

Here's a couple of the .380 Rim revolvers (.38 S&W cartridge in the US). Flattop 44 will recognize them :D

Top is a SDA-384L, Bottom is a SS-382L Both probably overrun guns from the contract Ruger had with India. Both have the box, papers, shipper, plastic and special paper they sealed the box in before putting it in the shipper.

I added to the military collection a couples months ago with a NIB SDA-84L (.38 Spl), again probably an overrun from the US military contract. It came with everything AND a new/unused military shoulder holser that would have been used to carry it. The holster even has the government NSN (National Stock Number) stamped into it.

Really like the SS-382L, although both are really interesting.

.380 Rim ammo shipped from the Government of India, for testing in revolvers, to Sturm, Ruger & Co., 1985. 12 round boxs.

I've had a chance to buy one of the 4-inch models locally but man oh man the guys way high on his price. Always frustrating to see one that's just way out of reason.

You got some nice one's there! Good for you!

Just learning...cool stuff. How many military orders did Ruger fill in the DA? Is there a place to get a list? Just trying to start building a collection.

Thanks!
