Doing some GP100 research

I am doing research on GP100 Catalog numbers (ie, KGP-161, GPF-830, etc.)

I would like to hear from people that own the .44 spl, 10mm, .22 and the .327 Mag. I would like to know what is written on the end label of the box it came it and then the actual description of the firearm in hand.

Examples: GP-32751 (Blue, .327 Mag, 5" bbl, half lug) or KGP-22-55 (stainless, .22LR, 5.5" bbl)

You can post here or send me a PM

I am building a database with information on how to interpret the GP100 Catalog numbers. Once finished I'll also pass it on to Chad for inclusion in the RENE and/or Reference of Ruger Firearms.

I talked to Ruger yesterday and the CS girl I talked is passing my info to a Ruger dealer rep so he/she can get hold of me to discuss this also. The CS people go by the Model number (1702, 1758, etc.) and not the Catalog number. With the Model number she said when she enters it into the computer it will tell her the complete description of the gun but not the Catalog number. And I have found a few oddities so far because of the new calibers the introduced.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Standard stainless GP100, 4 inch barrel, .357 Mag

Catalog # KGP-44-3-5
Model # 01761
Stainless 3 inch barrel GP100, .44 Special.

gunman, the info on the 44 is very helpful. I am assuming that it has a full lug. The KGP-141 is a standard designation that most people know. Thank you for your help.

Chuck, the info on the 10mm Match Champion is also very helpful, especially seeing the -1040 coding. On most of the GP's that last "0" would tell someone that it is half lug but I've run into one that had a "1" but it was a half lug so I'm trying to figure out if on that model it means something else.

Thanks Chuck. I'll give Ruger another call tomorrow to see if I can talk to a dealer rep and see if he/she can give me any info.
