I found an original FGS stock at a yard sale for $55, I am currently looking for a correct vintage rifle to put in the stock

In the mean time I took a factory new take off barrel, gave it a high polish and reblued it

I then purchased a steel receiver from Kingston Armory and gave it the same treatment as the barrel

I then bought an anodized aluminum trigger housing from Atomic Arms and assembled it with new trigger components

This is the result

I have a second receiver that I would like to have color case hardened, but can't find anyone local to do it.

finish looks great..
as far as case coloring, you can't go wrong with Bobby Tyler of Tyler Gun Works located in Texas. Not local, but you won't beat his prices or quality. check out his website...

TCB, great job. The fingergroove is my favorite 10/22 & 44 Carbine stock.
