I bought this used off EBAY in 2012 for $45.00 advertised as an "estate" find. I saw another identical one sell on EBAY about 4 years later.
I thought it had to be something when it was just the one but after I saw another...
It is not a perfect match to the early production laminated "Target" stock but extremely close.
My guess was they were prototypes for the first Race Rifle, but that's just a guess. But I think they could have been made around that time.
Any ideas?

I have seen a Charger stock with the same laminated pattern. Alternating red, white and blue strips of wood which gives it a unique look. Nice find and it has the old S/R logo too.
Some people sit on $.05 of knowledge like it is the treasure of Egypt. I will teach anyone $.10 worth just to prove a point...

If I remember correctly this colored laminated stock was done for a special run of 10/22s back in that time frame to raise funds for the US Olympic shooting teams. Very limited production run.

That’d be the 2006 USST USA Team RRR (serial USST0000XX). Same laminate pattern as the stock above. The next year, 2007 they came out with another “limited” run of 5000, the USST-II (serials start with USII000XX). It’s laminate pattern differed in that it’s colors were grouped in 11 layers of the same color… red, white, and blue.Charlie1022 wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 6:46 pm If I remember correctly this colored laminated stock was done for a special run of 10/22s back in that time frame to raise funds for the US Olympic shooting teams. That stock isn't from the USST or USII prefix Olympic models... Those were a thumbhole stock variant and the other was a Barracuda style stock.
That may be a prototype stock. The most recent red, white and blue Olympic laminate stock was a takedown in the "classic" style with Schnabel forend.

Yeah, I know, I was just replying to Charlie10/22 that the model with that color pattern that was being referred to with that pattern was the USST RRR . I’m not sure what the stock is that the OP has, and could not find anything about it, although I’m thinking that one was done around the time or before the USST. I sure would like to find an original 10/22 like that thoughchet15 wrote: ↑Tue May 10, 2022 12:13 pm That stock isn't from the USST or USII prefix Olympic models...
