Ruger Orvis
This is my first post since joining in June. This seems like the proper place to put pictures of my Ruger Orvis shotgun. It is a 20 gauge with screw in chokes (the First shotgun with them) in 26" barrels. The leather covered butt pad is factory as well as the quail in the forearm. Other features are nice wood, rollmarked for Orvis on the top rib and on the bottom of the receiver.

Randy,
Not sure that is not a prototype? None of the few others I have seen are outfitted like that. Serial# is notably lower than others too.

Re: Ruger Orvis
All of the Orvis marked shotguns that I've seen pictures of are just like that. The ones that are not marked "Orvis" have the typical Red Label parts.

Re: Ruger Orvis
I'll have to agree with Ruger No.1. I've seen (pics) of others with similar features 12 & 20's. Also English stocked 12's. Others "in the serial number range" have standard Red Label features. Not sure of the prototype status and you are right - the serial number is way earlier than most. It is the first Orvis known with 26" barrels with screw in chokes - RL2029.
