Joe Passed away 2 months after that picture was taken,
He was a lot of fun & some very interesting stories about his Stainless Steel Blackhawks that he made into Vaqueros Style gun sitting in Bill Ruger's office showing him...…. Bill was not happy! But he was listening & called in some others to see them.
But the Vaqueros came out of that meeting(s)!

It was taken by Flatgate (Carl Laco) in 2009.

Most likely and the picture does not show it but Joe Bowman probably had one spur on. He did that so people would ask why only one spur or did you lose a spur? He would say that his "pappy" told him son if you spur the left side of a horse the right side will follow (or something to that nature) - had the pleasure of meeting him and getting a picture with him at EOT. I would like to own one of his double rigs w/guns. Remarkable person. The other 2 in the picture are pretty remarkable also.
