Enjoying the trip through time Don. Keep the pictures coming.

Interesting that the records indicate the Hatcher Single-Six left the factory with Ivory grips. It's always been written that no Ruger shipped with anything other than hard rubber grips or walnut grips. Stag & Ivory were never shipped on a gun. This debunks this thought.

My notes also show the Guns Magazine rifle being in .38-55.

As to the #14 shipped with ivory, that is the first I'd seen that this particular revolver was shipped with ivory. But I do have notes on a RSS4 that Fred Davis, Jr. had that was also shipped with ivory. Perhaps Lee Newton can verify the number on that one? My recollection on that came from Jeff Munnell.
It is my belief that Fred Davis, Jr. had a major contact at the Ruger factory, perhaps Ed Nolan, so he certainly had the ability, as did Hatcher of course, to request something like that. Perhaps the Davis gun was provided with ivory as a separate enclosure with the package???

An SP101, factory built in .22wmr
Model No. KSP-240, s/n 570-68353
I have added a .22lr Cylinder, so I call it a "Super" SP101
