Wolff gp100 main spring for Speed six?

Post by Stonebuster »

I read the Wolff coil main spring fits the speed sixes. True? I know they sell an assortment listed for the Speeds but they're 14,16 &17#. I wanted to try a 12#. I've got a leftover 14# from a gp100 I may try first since I'm not sure what's in it now.

Just looked at my replacement springs for both the Six series and the GP100's. Looks like it should work, but check the length of the spring because the hammer struts for the Six series and the GP is different and some of the springs might not fit correctly.

Will do. Not knowing if my main spring is factory, I need to put a couple hundred shots down range before I try anything lighter. It doesn't feel too bad the way it is. I shot it much better than I do my SP 2.25 DAO from the first cylinder. I may be wrong, but the travel after cylinder locks up to the time the hammer drops seems shorter on the Speedy than the SP. More like my smiths.
