Ruger Blackhawk Trivia

Post by d findley »

Who knows how many different calibers the Ruger Blackhawk has been chambered in from 1955 to today? Nothing but Blackhawks!

Was the 256 a Blackhawk? .45 ACP and do we count .44 Russian?

Do not want to distract, but I have been asking the same question about the full size Vaqueros, what chamberings? 44 mag 44-40....what else?

Your right Don, I think they made a prototype of the .256 Win. before clambering the Hawkeye in it, and the .44 Russian - was it offered during the flattop generation? Talk about an obscure round.

I believe that there are 17 and the 256 is based on a Blackhawk, 327 is a single seven.

You're correct that the Hawkeye was based on a Blackhawk frame but not classified as a Blackhawk, Ruger offered a 8 shot Blackhawk chambered in .327 Federal Magnum in 2010 with a catalog # KBN-3275 and model #0353.

The 256 is in single catagory but the 327 is a seven shot I have one , did not know about 44 and the 256 chambered in Blackhawk, do you know how many, also I have read that the new 10 mm can shoot 44 Russian, 38/40, john taffan has had one chambered for them.
