The Service Six I asked about in the "Questions" forum arrived at my FFL yesterday. It was wrapped in nothing but bubble wrap w/label on it but made the trip from Oklahoma to Connecticut safely. It's condition is amazing for a lightly used gun. There's not even wear marks on the hammer or trigger and it is a true DAO. I'm very pleased with this revolver and am anxious to get the Ruger letter as it doesn't have the "star" but it's SN#162-411XX falls within the range of NYCPD contract. Either way, I'm happy with this uncommon revolver in uncommon condition.

Great gun to get hold of. The letter from Ruger will be interesting in what it says, let us know.

Nice pickup, appears to be in great shape, better hang onto that one.

Be interesting to hear from you what the mother ship has to say.

The Ruger letter arrived yesterday confirming it's a GF-84 NYCPD special contract overrun shipped directly to Davidsons West in Prescott, AZ. Ten dollars for this information was money well spent IMO. I found a "new" old stock Sile walnut grip that works better than the original for me and looks better than rubber. Is it true Sile used to make some of the Six Series grips for Ruger?

Nice snag!
Seeing that it is one of the over run revolvers it will not have the NYCPD "Star" on the frame.
Now you need to find one of the revolvers that went to the NYCPD,, ;) the hunt never ends :D .
