Your best bet to get your question answered is to pose it in the section that pertains to your firearm. i.e., if it is a Ruger Single Action revolver (Blackhawk, Bearcat, Single-Six, etc.) pose your question in one of the Single Actions sections. If it is a Ruger rifle, pose the question in section that deals with what yours is (No.1, No.3 or a bolt action, etc.) Once you post your question there will be people who will read it and offer you assistance.

You said "Red Label" and then said you have a copy of Chad's book coming. Do you have a Red Label shotgun or a Red Eagle pistol? Chad wrote the definitive book on the Ruger .22 pistol from 1949 to 1992 and Don Findley has also written some fine books on the Ruger pistol and the inner workings of the Ruger company. We would love to see a picture of your Ruger be it a pistol or shotgun.
Some people sit on $.05 of knowledge like it is the treasure of Egypt. I will teach anyone $.10 worth just to prove a point...
