Ok gurus. I picked this up on GB today, and it seems like a good find.
It’s a MarkI that appears to be unfired, or it’s been properly refinished.
The interesting part is the British proof marks and what I believe to be the importers
Name on the underside of the barrel.
I’ve been able to decipher some of the proof marks, but not all.
If anyone knows anything about this gun or similar ones, I’m all ears.

That is slick! I know that Ian Fleming of James Bond fame had a Mark 1 Ruger pistol. His was #196902 and was bought from Cogswell and Harrison in 1962. I wonder if another forum member here owns Ian Fleming's Mark 1?

Hello Rickkling,
Here is what symbols indicate;
From left to right the markings on the side of the barrel indicate the following:
NP under sword = London Proof House, NP = Nitro Proof
.22" = .22 caliber in inches
.610 = .610” case length in inches
8 tons - proofed @ 16000 psi
The mark in front the serial no. = Definitive Proof Mark (@ chamber)
Under barrel are importer information as required by US Government on all imported products
I hope this helps, John

Yes it does John, thank you.
Someone on the ROCS Facebook page answered the tons and deciphered the importer name, but I wasn’t sure on the one by the SN.

Great find Rick and a very unique Ruger!
Re: British proofed MarkI
This is great info, I have a British Proofed .44 Flattop so I will compare my proof marks with this document.
Thanks Much, FT44

That is a great reference source for all firearms not just Rugers. Maybe that should be a "Sticky" somewhere on the forum.
