Yep that is not a typo. Just purchased a 270 win No. 1 RSI with a 130 prefix serial number. Just goes to show that using left over actions were not exclusive to non prefix guns. I ran the S/N on the Ruger website says it was shipped in 1986, so action was probably collecting dust at the factory for 10 years....
Anyway, ROCS member Rowdy had two other 130 RSI's (sold 1) both in 270 also. Begs the question does anyone have or seen other 130 prefix RSI guns??

Yes, I had one several years ago. Not that uncommon, apparently for this variation/caliber. I wonder if yours or Rowdy's are the one I had?zebra55 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 4:53 pm Yep that is not a typo. Just purchased a 270 win No. 1 RSI with a 130 prefix serial number. I just got a 132 prefix RSI in 30-06 at the Dixie Deer Classic. Letter from Ruger that came with it states the test fire date was May of 1983. Also states one of the 1st RSI’s produced. The funny thing is the serial number search says it shipped in 2012. If that’s true it sat around the factory just short of 30 years.

Broadly, we may recall the demise of the Low Serial Number Subscription Pgm, and the shipment of a truckload (big truck, "they" said) of old factory inventory to Davidson's in Prescott. Some of these were factory oddities, low SN's, and remainders of short production runs. They were sold to the winds with no fanfare. I came across one SN 27 gun to match one of my 28's, but missed six other 27's already sold.
Davidson Sales staff told me that there were other 2 and 3 digit guns already sold! Logically, and in my style, I thought loudly.......WTH! Perhaps someone could have thought to contact the subscription holders about these guns. Perhaps these oddity rifles were part of that ill planned circus...........Just sayin'......As noted earlier, Mr Fifer never answered any of my "Ask the Chairman" letters about this........... Later, I was advised that some bean counter was the cause of this shipment as management was counseled that this group of inventory were liabilities, rather than assets, due to their unique characteristics.......whatever the hell that meant.
