Early Mag Follower Button Question
Curious, did the early two-tone magazines have two different size follower buttons and or style?
Re: Early Mag Follower Button Question
I think you will find a variation among them from mag to mag, almost, to me, like they turned them by hand, and are usually just rounded at the top, some a bit of a flat, and the first ones a bit larger in diameter for the button itself,,in fact if you look at the mags pictured in Chads 'Encyclopedia of Ruger Rimfires 1949-1992' page 23 shows the differences....and we've seen them over the years early on to be "different"...one reason the newer MK II mags with the larger yet buttons and folks 'reverse' the button to use in their RST or Mark I , this larger MK II button can hang up in the 'A-54' frames channel 'groove'....now obviously the larger button for the Mark II is NEEDED to activate the hold open lever on the left side of their "newer" frame....hope this helps
