I have a sad note to report

Mike Sawmiller has passed away on Nov 18 2025......Mike was a wonderful guy to know and a truly gifted self taught artist....Mike was a pipe fitter by day and a talented engraver at night.....after he retired he really got after it ....I had Mike engrave 10 guns over the years maybe a few more... The first one was an early Flatgate in the. Jerred style I personally thought Mike did a better job I even had a case made to copy the factory....I figured I would never find an original so I was ecstatic to have one of Mikes recreations......

I could send him a gun ready to go on Monday priority mail and have it back on Fridays mail...... unbelievable.
I have a belt buckle Mike did for me too....he never wanted to sign anything but I made sign one pair he did for me....#148 BKH3 and BKH4......one for my son Adam and one for me......

I have 3 Colts detective specials he engraved too.....he quite engraving several years ago I will sure miss running into into him at OGCA..... Godspeed my friend. .

Rod, unfortunately we are all getting to the age that this happens regularly. Our friends and family grow more important with every day!
