Not a Ruger but nice to see. Jim Triggs painting of a S&W model 41. This image was featured on the cover of the 1958 Gun Digest. Triggs was considered among the best trompe l'oeoil painters ever. Trompe l;oeoil is an art technique that uses realistic imagery to create the optical illusion that the depicted objects in the painting exist in three diminution.

I have a good collection of Gun Digests with the complete years of 1948 to 1968 with most of the 70's, 80's & 90's covered. Also many from this century. It's amazing to read them now especially the ones from 1948 to the late 1950's talking about that "Upstart Company in Southport CT"....

Those early Gun Digests have a lot of inside information on Ruger Firearms. A great place to research Sturm, Ruger and their firearms. The first Ruger to appear in Gun Digest was in the 1951 issue. Beginning in 1958 to 1989, Trigg's art was featured on 15 GD covers.

The Ruger shown in the 1951 edition was engraved if I remember correctly. The picture of Bill Ruger in a Sherlock Holmes hat is in 1952 or 1953 with him firing a T514 is priceless

Another great picture. I have a mint in box early model 41 just like the one shown but of course not engraved.
