I have been on the trail of this rifle for a long time, then lost it, as the story was that Fred had "given it away" and no one knew just quite where. I turns up, not too far from Oroville, CA. The Brown Truck brought it today.
It is what I call an AH in 22-250. the AH is the 22" A weight barrel, Alex Henry forearm and no sights. It has about as nicely figured wood as is found on any of the 2 digit rifles.

Does look to be Elmer's hat!

Just found one of my old Outdoor Life magazines from Feb, 1956. article by O'Connor on he and Huntington antelope hunting with Bowman in Wyoming
