A good friend of mine now has the 46 collection that is for sale ($92,000) along with all the employee gifts for the years 1958 to 1985. Original owner was Jack Packard who was service manage from about 1958 to 1985 when he retired. The collection also has a white box for a Super. Bill Hamm as the #46 Flat Top 357 that he wrote about as associated with the DEW line in Alaska. The FT 44 went to a hardware store in Washington along with the FT 357. We know the name of the person who got the Standard Auto, but no address. There are 96 or 97 firearms in the collection. The 77/44 is missing as it was damaged during manufacture and at that point in manufacturing the company would not reissue the number as the stampings are automatic. I am not sure if the Single Six is in the collection or not. I believe the Bearcat is the first one and all after that. The Gold Label is not in the set and was not in most subscriptions. The subscriptions ended with the Single Ten. There was a point that the company asked all who had subscriptions if they wished to continue; if so, one had to respond in order to continue. This collection has two that have been fired. I believe they were No. 1, R44, or 10/22 (2 fo these 3). #46 collection is one of the most complete in existence per info shared with Chad Hiddleson of RENE. I am fortunate enough to have purchased Elmer Keith's two Old Armies (blue with brass frame and non prefixed stainless) with serial number 15 and both in boxes. My other luck finds have been Standard Auto #0619 and Long Frame boxed super #31. Any interested in the #46 collection may email me directly:
