Hello RocDoc,
Although I did live in the Eastern Townships of Québec (north of Vermont) for 6 years in my youth, I am originally from eastern Ontario, and now live in southern Ontario. I do miss the lakes, trees and rocky hills of eastern Ontario and Québec. I do enjoy my visits to Maine and Michigan, and passing through Vermont when I get a chance.

I have crossed the Niagara peninsula many times from Queenston to Windsor so know that area of Ontario fairly well. Ontario is a BIG place indeed.
Some people sit on $.05 of knowledge like it is the treasure of Egypt. I will teach anyone $.10 worth just to prove a point...

Well Watertender, I live real close to the 401, so if you want to stop for a coffee [or a tour of the local gun store, they always have some Ruger
], let me know when you are passing through.

Thanks for the welcome Joe. I love driving through Michigan on the way to the Alpena area, where my wife's Dad and two brothers live. Glad to hear you like our ducks. I am particularly fond of Canada goose breast sausages...mmmmhmm!
By the way, I mind the cold, but have no alternative
Take care,
Pierre

I was in Quebec on a business trip, lady in a store at check-out asked me in french, I assume what meant did you find everthing you needed? Told her in my TX accent, sorry I do not speak french, she said that is ok in english, funny to me least, felt sort of stupid at the moment

Re: Greetings from the Great White North!
I can imagine if would be a bit challenging, but most Quebecers (at least along the main highways) can manage in English. Most seem to prefer serving visitors in English if that makes them more comfortable.
You won't have to worry about me; I am fully two-tounged (or is it fork-tounged?), maybe tongue-tied!
Take care RocDoc,
Pierre
