Ditto that Ruger1441 - I had the pleasure of owning #7 for a few years. Just not the same as the old Flattops. Just my opinion though. Awesome complete package Mike. I just picked up a complete split shipper package .44 Flattop. :)

Well.....I am happy that some of you have that disdain for the venerable 256 WM Hawkeye. Gave me the opportunity to have some and pass them on to those who'd never owned, or as noted, seen one in person. Heckofa lot fewer of them than the attractive FT or Supers, with some 3300+/- put out there for us. I still prefer the early model with the steel ejector housing and MICRO marked rear sight. Bruiser, that was a nice add to your stable....... 8-) And yes, Gary, I still recall the one you passed on to me from Carson City! seems it came with a Bearcat that still tags along with the engraved chosen few. :D

I thought the 30 CARBINE was the RED HEADED STEP CHILD of RUGER COLLECTING

I have 4 HAWKEYES and only 1 30 CARBINE....I guess I didn't get the memo    RR

Most Ruger collectors are pretty patient with newer collectors asking dumb questions. You are pushing the limit! Another couple of these dumb questions or remarks; like-"How's it shoot?" is going to get you kicked off the forum!

I can't get to excited about Hawkeyes although I do have 2 of them, both 3 digit guns. One new in the box with shipper and the other about 99% with scope and yes I have shot it and it shoots great, if you can afford the ammo. ;)
I haven't been lucky enough to find 2 digit guns in the F/T's or Supers, but I have one 2 digit Super, but it's not new. But it does have some interesting providence.

Since we "hear" that all Hawkeye parts and complete guns remaining in old inventory were sent to the smelters at Pine tree Casting, if correct and true, then regardless of the stated 33XX built, there are net fewer to start with and fewer to find...........still a rare bird and worth owning. Some say "it was a full pallet of guns.......".............
