Sounds like you have a "K" Alphabet Bearcat. When Ruger began making the Bearcat they serial numbered the first group 1 - 1000. Then they began putting a letter of the Alphabet in front of each on the next groups of 1000 guns. A001 - A999, B001 - B999, etc. for each letter in the alphabet except the letter "O". Show us some pictures of your engraved Cat.
