Going from the top down, take a look at the 4th, 5th, and 6th rifles in the photo of all of them together. Those are Scout Rifles with a straightened stock. Compare those to the others and you will see his touch in the stock of your rifle. He really did like to shoot them in this configuration and did do this to a lot of his stocks. It took some time.

Here's the information that I can tell you about it. These rifles were called "Speed Sticks" and there was between 6 to 20 total built. Either way, not many. A few of them may have a marine corp medallion embedded into the stock. The Chief said that he worked hard on the stocks of those, removing the pistol grip and even including the "knob" on the forend that he called a German Snobel. It would have the full AJ "Fine Tune" job from the Tribal Workshop. He went on to say that the Speed Stick "sure does look nice and feels so good in your hands. I did make a lot of Out-Ruger-Standing 10/22's." The engravings were done by machine at a shop in IL. which is no longer in business. You have a beautiful rifle and I really appreciate you sharing it with us. It is new to me and I will attempt to get the description of it into the book. I'm not sure of the exact model but think that this one is from 2007 and would be one of the later runs of rifles that he did.

Of course Chuck is right the serial number dates this one to 2007. Must be one of the last group of 10-22's the Chief did.

Remember it is just wood. Cut it, sand it, and refinish.
A good percentage of THE Chiefs guns were altered in this way,
because that is how he liked to shoot them and sell them as something
different than what Ruger was offering.
You have a very cool gun customized by Chief AJ, shoot it, and enjoy it.

Glad to help Chief Tinsley! The book is titled "The Exploits of Chief AJ". I'm still hoping that it is ready by July but our publisher is slower than I anticipated on the review process. I have already begun to raise awareness within the ranks of ROCS that it might be Tulsa in November before we release it.
