Jay I only offer you the finest of items.... Even a trapdoor union suit with a racing stripe in the back and a full bag of marbles. Heck I will even throw in a nice red velvet case like I gave Bill Hamm for his .44's... It was for a matched pair but it was marked 38DD from someplace called Victoria's Secret... I think it's a hidden company making combo cleaning cloths and lace cup holders... I might be wrong but I think a smart guy like you might know the answer!

Just a follow up on this thread/gun.
I've been reading Mr. Dougan's book "Ruger pistols and revolvers the vintage years 1949-1973"
His chart shows 86 guns produced in 1953 and only 31 were serial number 50 or lower.
This pretty much kills the Ruger serial number listings and every other listing that I have seen that states 50 guns. serial numbers 1-50 were what was made in the first year, 1953.
He lists this serial #146 RSS as one of 3 guns produced on Dec 29th 1953, which lines up with my factory letter and makes this one of the first 43 single sixes made and shipped.
Just interesting to me......the voyage continues.
Cheers,
JAY

It has been 29 months since I got this back from Tyler Gunworks. I am amazed how much the plum color of the receiver is coming back from the re-blue. Very cool, I think
Three pictures, one before, one after, and one now.

Wow Jay! That is beautiful. The plum and red coloring on some of the older pieces is amazing. You have a good one there.

Looking good Jay, it's a great feeling when one comes together so good after a long wait. I've got an engraved RSSM that I need to get to Bobby and let his group do their magic.

That is simply beautiful, Bobby makes them look original. Love the pluming receiver and gate. Smart move Jay.
