Had a couple of good bites with hook set, however couldn't get 'em in the boat!

Eyes and ears still open for an Original 1950 Hinged "Ruger Pistol" Red Eagle BOX and OWNERS MANUAL. Gun Auction Sites and the Bay inventories have been non-existent, but will continue watching. Was heading yesterday to the local Gun Show in New Orleans to have a look and make contacts, but COVID-19 shut er' down.

However, would really be Great to procure these through the ROCS membership (fingers still crossed)!!

Beautiful!!! Thanks for showing us. The Ruger Standard is the finest .22 pistol out there and put 2 other great makers out of the .22 pistol business. I love reading the early gun catalogs that show Ruger with just the Standard Auto and then the Mark 1. Colt and High Standard had full lines of .22 pistols and Ruger outlasted them both.

1953 MkI T514 (2nd collectable?)

Thanks Steve, Bill & WT! The 76' and 53' shoot great. I'm fully confident the 50' would also, but again, that is my 1st Ruger Pistol "collectable" and My Safe Queen! ;)

Believe I now have a "2nd collectable". For too long, I've tried (through several unsuccessful on-line bids) to obtain the rare MkI Heavy Taper Target T514 Black Eagle. My recent post in the -Want To Buy- section brought some PM's with interesting proposals (thanks to Tom, Steve and Bill)! TEMIII offered me one from His T514 collectable inventory...greatly appreciate his generosity (must have felt pity for me)!!

It arrived safely in a very good 95% condition and after detailed cleaning, some polishing the exterior and lubing all the action and bolt assemblies (didn't really need it, but all part of my new ownership MO), this 1953 5 1/4" Black Eagle (another birth year!) is a Really Sweet MkI addition. The target trigger is very crisp (no creep), has little PT, no OT and a very nice break-like-glass 2.5# pull! Balance is excellent with POA being quick and precise! :D

Tom says my timing was right, so guess my wait has paid off! Knowing its rarity and condition, I'm reluctant to shoot it, but what the heck...have to discover how accurate she can be!!

Theo does the T514 have a 2 piece bolt? I had a couple of 1953 vintage Ruger .22 pistols promised to me by a family friend upon his passing. Did not get either of them but still remember those pistols like it was yesterday. You have a great pistol there with that in your collection. Thanks for showing us.
