Re: WANTED!!!! MAXIMUM SERIAL NUMBERS!!!!
After reading your original post from 6 years ago,
I am curious what you have learned so far.
Mine is 600-02126 with 10.5 inch barrel.
Bought it from a ROCS member 18 months ago, but
did not see it listed in this thread.
Cheers,
JAY

Re: WANTED!!!! MAXIMUM SERIAL NUMBERS!!!!
Have learned a few generalizations....I would have to have all numbers to be very specific, but so far..
10 1/2 guns were the 1st produced all subscription numbers up to around #600-00113 then they started with 7 1/2
Large run of 7 1/2 up to around 600-01300
7 1/2 high sights were during the 1st runs, low sights towards the middle/end of production( this is a hard one to pin down as guys don't always mention the sight height)
Mixed barrel length production up through about 600-03050 then a large block of 10 1/2 up through 600-06000. ( there probably are some 7 1/2 thrown in there but my records are all 10 1/2)
From that point on it seems like mixed production.
From 600-11300 to 600-11588 I have each individual record thanks to Wanda Santana at Ruger records. Everything above 600-11588, according to Ruger records have been "scrapped" Highest Maximum serial number, according to Chet, was 600-16314.
One thing I would like to know, probably the hardest to find out without having actual Ruger production records is when they changed the forcing cone from 5 degrees to 11.
Still got lots ta learn.....Coogs
